Kathy Klich - Pastoral Minister

I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio.  Though my family attended mass weekly, they could not afford Catholic schooling for me, so I was nurtured through weekly C.C.D.  classes.  I graduated from Baldwin Wallace College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics.  After traveling for several years as an educator for White/Elna Sewing Machines, I married my High School sweetheart, and we moved to Cincinnati for his job with Procter & Gamble as a Patent Attorney.  Shortly after our son was born and we purchased a home here, my husband died quite suddenly.  During the two weeks of his illness, the Lord convinced me of His presence with me in my crisis in many powerful ways, so much so that I gave my life to the Lord and asked Him to remake it according to his plan and not my own.  During the subsequent years, I made a Cursillo Retreat, a Life in the Spirit Seminar, and I became active in my church (Corpus Christi) helping to teach C.C.D., and attending courses to receive my Certification as a Religion Teacher.  Later on I became involved with initiating Youth Ministry, and then a Prayer Group.  In 1984, the Lord opened the way before me to attend the Lay Pastoral Ministry Program, at the Athenaeum of Ohio (the Seminary on Beechmont Avenue).  I graduated from the L.P.M.P., with a Master of Arts in Religion in 1987.  I worked at St. Vincent Ferrer in Pastoral Ministry from 1987 – 1992.  I have been the Pastoral Associate at O.L.R.  since the summer of 1992.

Here at O.L.R., I provide leadership for Evangelization and the Spiritual Growth of our Adults.  I am the coordinator of our Pastoral Plan of Parish Retreats, Small Church Communities, and Missionary Outreach.  I coordinate the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) process for both Adults and Children, overseeing our RCIA Team, the period of Inquiry, the Period of Catechumenate, the Lenten Period of Preparation for Easter, the period of Reflection during Easter Season, and the implementations of the various Rituals.  I plan for Parish Mission Speakers, other Adult Education, and oversee the ministries in the Network of Care.  I welcome our New Parishioners and provide pastoral care to the sick at home and in hospitals, and those seeking spiritual guidance.
